Breast Cancer Education Seminars

This educational forum is designed to help attendees understand who is at risk for developing breast cancer and learn about the latest developments in diagnosis and treatment. Seminars will provide an explanation of the diseases’ genetic components and profiles. Physicians from The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute will be available for questions from those attending the seminar.

Studies have shown that Jewish women, particularly those of Ashkenazi decent, have a greater likelihood of possessing and transmitting the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes and are at higher risk for developing both breast and ovarian cancer. This seminar and meeting with physicians from The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute’s Breast Cancer Program provides a valuable opportunity for the Los Angeles community as it has never been done before.

The Farrah Fawcett Symposium on Circulating Tumors and Chemosensitivity Testing

The Angeles Clinic Foundation is hosting a symposium through a generous gift from the Farrah Fawcett Foundation. The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute was where Farrah Fawcett received her treatment for cancer and she held a special interest in circulating tumor cells and chemosensitivity testing. The symposium will bring together the world’s prominent researchers on this topic in order to discover all current methods of testing and evaluate where research can continue.
